Careers & the World of Work Workshop

For providers of Special Education

During this workshop we will continue the process of identifying & evaluating resources & activities which can support development of innovative and exciting careers education programmes and share best practice.

Be introduced to and discuss the Careers Wales Mark. Consider how the Careers Wales work experience diary adds value to our C&WW programme. Discuss Education Business activities, the preparation for and evaluation of events.

Target Audience

The programme will be useful for co-ordinators who are responsible for delivery of the Careers & the World of Work framework including those responsible for Work Experience & delivering enterprise activities.

Objectives

· To share ideas & resources which support Careers & the World of Work delivery

· Be introduced to & discuss the new Careers Wales Mark – continuous quality improvement.

· Discuss how the Careers Wales Mark can contribute to Estyn’s drive to build capacity for self-evaluation

· Evaluate the Careers Wales work experience diary and consider additions and inclusions for the next print.

· Discuss Education Business activities, as well as learner preparation for and evaluation of the events

· Identify any knowledge and skills gaps which need to be addressed.

Facilitator:

The day will be led by the curriculum development team punctuated with examples of good practice from your colleagues.

Cost

There will be no fee for this event, but travel and supply must be met from schools’ delegated budget.
